Day Night
For me a painting begins with a sense of its physicality, an intangible presence I want to realize, by bringing an image into this space, with volume, light and texture. The process of making my paintings allow me to give a subtle painterly body to the image and the 7 foot high scale of these works draws the viewer in, filling their vision.
Still shows the arc of light throughout the day. Weightless is a companion with images that are unmoored and dreamlike. The images are quiet and familiar, intended to give pause.
